Directly inherited from the real-world experience developed in collaboration with Australian ASBK race champions, the practical knowledge has been translated into a more street/track dual-purpose user-friendly version. The multi-thickness design targeting the inner thighs, the anti-slip slope for rapid deceleration, and the reference position for elbow support during side hanging were all considered to achieve "complete coverage" and "allowing the rider to focus more on driving control," creating a more integrated feeling between the rider and the bike.
The R1 is a speed machine designed for racing tracks, naturally requiring more diverse riding demands: side hanging, rapid deceleration, elbow resting on the tank, etc., all of which influence the design philosophy of the original tank. The distribution lines between the tank pad pieces are not only visual embellishments but also the thickness distribution separators. Whether the rider's movements and post-movement discomfort are all within the R2's considerations, each piece's shape subtly indicates its role in aiding the ride.
In addition to reducing rider fatigue and instability from sliding with R2's signature multi-thickness and special materials, we had a sudden inspiration. Using designs similar to deceleration slopes and small wings on the upper edge of the tank as reference points for knees and hands, riders don't need to pay extra attention to the relative positions of their bodies and the bike. Reduced body movement naturally decreases physical exertion, allowing racers/riders to focus more on riding.
R2 hopes to provide every user with an enjoyable driving experience through the tank pads, which is the true power of new technology.
